I'm back in Grand Forks after a 2 year stay in Chicago. I fell in love with that city, someday I hope to get back there, potentially permanently. I've lived in Grand Forks before, I went to college here and started my career here. I've found some familiar spots for this, that or the other. That being said, one of my favorite things is to explore new spots around town. Especially if my motorcycle gets to get involved. Game on.

I'm into a darker style but not all the way goth. I like industrial music and various new metal bands.

I have a love for just about anything that flies. Even paper airplanes. Ok, especially paper airplanes. Right now I'm obsessed with tiny remote control fliers. I love games of all sorts. I'm not really into watching sports, but I'll play just about anything with the right crew. Friendly competition is great fun, as long as it stays friendly.

I like sarcasm/cynicism but I'm overall a happy person.

I'm absolutely unapologetically me. Sometimes I'm abrasive, it's not because I'm trying to offend you. I just don't like to sugar-coat things or dance around the issue. I'm incredibly kind and patient, I just speak my mind.

UPDATE (2/7/2010): Recently returned to Grand Forks after a sublime, life-changing five-month stay/vacation in San Francisco. It is the greatest city in the world! Farewell Polk Street and Snob, er, Nob Hill.

I like reading, writing, sand volleyball, road races, surfing, rock climbing, flag football, golfing, kissing, cereal, honey ham, jeans, white Wayfarers, dialogue, stars, blue moons, Blue Moon, Rolling Rock, lifting weights, conversational idioms, and pointing out split infinitives.

I'm a fiction writer and screenwriter. I have an MFA in creative writing from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and they tell me that this means something. Occasionally write and submit short stories to "The New Yorker." One of these days, they'll publish one. It's only a matter of time.

I'm obsessed with running--not so much with high jumping.

Well, if I must, I shall write something. However, it really is just going to be a placeholder. Slowly, and most certainly, I shall eventually fill in most of these blanks.

In the meantime I suppose then that you can take this to mean I'm one of those people who use placeholders all the time.

Additionally, the whole concept of this... Self Summery seems a bit existential to me. Like some being reached the end of time and came back to run around and ask everyone to justify themselves and their worth to reality.

I have existed for a couple of decades now, and still have no real definition of what to state as myself. Nothing solid anyway. I drink Pepsi, avoid interacting with the "Real world" as much as possible, and like to meet people I've never met before.

Suffice to say I am a living meat being like the rest of us. capable of singing, smiling, dancing, lying, range of motion, and absorption and reflection of light. Many other things as well as come with the territory of product of humanity. One would almost think we all share common elements! Gasp!

Moving on I have three things to share:

First, I remain convinced one cannot adequately assess someone's personality in the quickmatch. So... That option bugs me. But it seems not to exist anymore. Or I'm an idiot. I have no idea.
Second, initiative is pretty great. Take chances. But maybe I'm just a fan of proactive philosophies. (sometimes, when I don't like to wait and see.)
Third. There is no third. Move along.

Most anything else I would put here would best be put in the other little colored boxes. So I'll do that.

I paintball, play video games and work. Not a lot to me. I like going out to movies, hiking, all that good stuff and also like hanging out on the couch. I like writing and tend to write in a blog I have on my myspace. I pulled one over and put it in the journal if you want to read it. It tells a lot about me I think and way more then I tend to write in this.

So I really dislike writing this things, trying to summarize one's self into a couple hundred characters is kinda weak to me. But yes, about me, I'm 22 living in the winter wonderland of North Dakota, been here my whole life, I'm currently unemployed, I wanted to go to school this year but my life just kinda unfolded in front of me this year.

I've been in a few relationships in my life, and from what I have gathered about myself is I have a hard line between letting my emotions get the better of me and not using logical sense. Most recently waiting to tell someone I cared for them so much, because I had so many things going wrong in my life i feared and hesitated, only to have my worse dreams come true and losing my chance to be with someone i really cared about to someone else.

I'm typically shy in person, but over the internet i'm open because its lacking the social fear of being awkward. I am a pothead, I do enjoy the relaxing thing that is marijuana. I tend to be open with the fact that i smoke, its easier that way. I am a cat person, as my pictures show, my little furry is named Gizmo. OK... Now the REAL story...

I'm originally from the Frigid Midwest... the city of Indian Lore... Mil-wau-kEE... If you've never seen Wayne's World you probably won't get the inference. Moved to Tucson about eight years ago or so. An old, slightly insane boss of mine offered me one hell of a promotion so I guess it's off to Grand Forks for a few years, so much the better since it gets me into a career field that's always interested me (Aviation) and it's really not so bad since it puts me within a days drive of family and a few hours from friends I have in Minneapolis. And after seven summers in the west desert, a little bit of cold might not seem so bad. Ever see the part in Indian Jones when the Nazis get their faces melted off? Try walking outside around noonish in the middle of July... My interests are varied... frivolous but they keep me out of jail and off the streets for the most part. Yes, I like to go out, watch movies, drink alcoholic beverages... who doesn't? My personal hobbies include cars for the most part. I read, discuss politics, work on my house, think of taking up stained glass and a salt water aquarium, and have two cats. Well, that's about all I have to say for now... I'm from the Northeastern states and currently reside in the Midwest. When thinking about my future, as a teen I wanted to be the adventurous one in the family so I picked a college far from home. MN was what I called home for my first 5 years away from my parents. I did enjoy life in the Midwest enough that I'm still here today. I now have a full time supervisor job that keeps me busy and on my toes. When I do have down time I try and spend it with friends doing anything from a night on the town to a day out walking in the woods to staying in and playing sing star. The thing I miss most from living out east are the mountains. I would like to move further into the west where I can get back into hiking, skiing, fishing, camping and such. I'm a KC-135 pilot in the Air Force so the military is obviously a big part of my life. I grew up in a small town in north Indiana and have been all over the country because of the Air Force. I love traveling, going to new and different places and enjoying the local flavor.

I've come to a certain realization over time that at a point in any night there comes a decision, a fork in the road if you will. Down one path is "Is this a good idea?" and down the other "Will this make a good story?" I spent a long time on the "good idea" fork, and then realized I was out of college with few stories and nothing to show for it. I hadn't had nearly the college experience that I had wanted or heard about and had no one to blame but myself. I decided to take the other fork from that point forward, that I was going to do things just to be able to say that I'd done them and damn the consequences. I've enjoyed my life a lot more since then.

Iâ??m the type of person who never turns down an invitation. I have an almost nonexistent sense of modesty; adding in a couple drinks often leads to table-dancing hilarity. I take great pleasure in self deprecating humor and ironic self aggrandizing. I am articulate and often obscene. I can accomplish almost anything if I decide to, but have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning. Iâ??ve gotten a manicure and broken my nose fighting. I am truly at home in the middle of the wilderness. Iâ??m my motherâ??s favorite son and I wish she had never told me that. Iâ??ve never done drugs. I dance like a stripper. I have a stunningly long attention span. I'm cautiously optimistic. I expect honesty and straightforwardness from others. Hey all, I'm jus gettin back into the swing of things... I grew up in a small town, and gradutated wit 5 people. Went to college in whap, and moved to Grand Forks in 05 been here since. I own a nice farm yard outside of town, and freakin love it!! Other than that, my life has been consumed with work this year. There is always the off time and vacation to enjoy; hangin out wit friends, havin fires, 4 wheelin, and hunting.

I am finishing up my last year of college. Not sure what exactly what I will do after that but I'm sure it will all work out. I am really into anything with technology. In the past I have been a little judgmental but I am doing my best to turn over a new leaf, because life is just too short.

I am pretty quiet around people I just meet, but once I get to know someone I'm just as talkative as the next person.

Hey, I am Cassie. I'm currently a full time student and working part time. I'm a cna at a nursing home, I love my job since it's always a pleasure to help others. I've learned to cope with death better, you learn to realize that sometimes it's for the best they pass away. To end their suffering, to finally be independent again. If I'm not busy with work and school, I spend my free time hunting, fishing, camping, hanging with friends, anything to keep busy.

I am just your average guy, fun loving, try to be funny most of the time (and fail but half the fun is in the trying....Right?) I am a country gentleman at heart. I have my faults and my character flaws but they just make me the colorful person that I am...Lol
I am a 10 year military vet and currently work in corrections. I am 5'10" - 280lbs - tattoo's - bald - goattee - with gold/green eyes. I have all my fingers, toes, and original teeth plus a truck that runs and yes at my height/weight I am thickly built.
I am far from perfect. Thats the truth. My BEST freinds wife calls me a "Nice guy" that someone will be lucky to have some day... lol Yep the Killer of all relationships... NICE GUY syndrome ROFL. We all know women secretly seek out the bad boys (thats why i got the the tat's lol)

I am extremely tired of drama in my life and prefer to have fun. I like adventure and seeking the same in who I date. I have no childern and enjoy a broad spectrum of interests. I have an associates in Aerospace Physiology..... Do not ask why I am not in the field ( thanks Air Force recruiter...Lol...long story ). An example of my varied interests is my music: anything from 2 Pac to George Strait, Montgomery Gentry / Nickleback, AC/DC and Metallica. Meeting people online is suppose to be fun! So lets have some fun getting to know each other.

I am sure their are a few of you out their who think like I do... You see all your friends with great people and you wonder where the good ones have all gone...Right? Well were still out here. I think people play it pretty safe nowadays and by that I mean they do not open themselves up to the idea that the next one they meet may not be such a bad guy..... Sometimes a red flag goes up and we cut that person out of the picture as we think we know where that relationship would be going...... Hey I am guilty of this myself..... I am trying my best not to do that.

I really dont know I just want to meet people an see what happens.
